Live Blackjack VS Online Blackjack

There are plenty of differences between live blackjack and online blackjack other than the obvious one. Clearly, live blackjack is done in person while online blackjack involves a computer screen. There’s much more to the differences than just that.

In this article, we’ll get to the bottom of just what these differences are. By the end of it, you’ll have an understanding of the differences of each as well as what they have to offer on an individual level.

Let’s get right to it, shall we?

Number of Players

You might think that the number of players is always one, you. While that is technically true, there are a few differences. For example, most of the time when you play live blackjack, you’ll be playing in a group. You aim to beat the house by not going over 21, but you will also try to beat the highest numbers of your opponents. The betting system for live blackjack varies depending on how many players are present and whether you are playing to beat them or playing to beat the house only.

Online blackjack is more singular than live blackjack. You play against the house every time. If the house wins, you lose what you bet, whereas if you win, then you double down on your winnings. (Plus whatever bonuses that site offers for consecutive wins, etc.)

In the end, it depends whether you prefer playing among other players or by yourself as to which of these will suit you better.

Strategy

When playing live blackjack, card counting is an option. I don’t mean that you should cheat of course! Most casinos and other betting establishments will quickly catch you, and you’ll probably end up with a fine that lasts you all year long!

However, when you play among other people, you can keep track of which cards are on the table. (Aside from the card that is face down which you won’t be able to know about) This allows you to use the strategy of determining how likely you are to bust on the next card turn-up.

Online blackjack doesn’t have this kind of strategy, as the RNG used will continuously ‘shuffle’ the deck, leaving you with no clue as to what cards are left to be turned over. The advantage to strategy in online blackjack is that you can have a list of basic strategies right there next to your game. You can use these to quickly determine the likelihood of winning based entirely on the cards you already have.

Location

Online blackjack may feel a little boring at first because the thrill of going into a casino and chilling with your mates while betting isn’t a part of it. However, just because you play blackjack online doesn’t mean you have to stay home.

Grab your mates and go hang at someone’s place, or outside where there’s a strong WiFi connection! You can all play together (in the same place but different games) and still have a blast!
